Bike Lanes: Time for a Smarter Approach

I believe in effective, safe, and practical transportation for everyone. Bike lanes matter — but in Ward 1, they need to be re-evaluated.

Right now, some bike lane decisions aren’t working for residents, businesses, or traffic flow. We can do better. Brampton has real opportunities to improve cycling infrastructure by focusing on Etobicoke Creek, Queen Street East and West, and other routes that make sense for safety, connectivity, and community use.

Good leadership means reviewing what isn’t working and fixing it. I support bike lanes that are well-planned, well-used, and well-integrated — and I know we can deliver a better solution for Brampton.

Land Acknowledgement:

I recognize that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships with the territories upon which make what we know to be Peel Region. The area known as Tkaronto has been care taken by the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Huron-Wendat. It is now home to many First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities. We acknowledge the current treaty holders, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory is subject of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to peaceably share and care for the Great Lakes region.
